*Antonio Giovinazzi went off 30 mins in and put it in the barriers at Turn 11 bringing out the red flags;
**Stoffel Vandoorne, Romain Grosjean and Sebastian Vettel had early spins;
***Carlos Sainz had a big lock-up at Turn 1;
****Jolyon Palmer damaged his car at the end of the session after running wide over the kerbs at the exit of Turn 4; this brought out the red flags for the second time;
#Kevin Magnussen and Esteban Ocon sat out FP1 with Antonio Giovinazzi and Alonso Celis driving their cars respectively
