£25,000 Sting For Max
Max Verstappen’s disappointing DNF also landed the young driver with a huge fine after failing to addend a session after the race…..
Max Verstappen had to retire early once again after sitting quite comfortable in 4th place and a podium in sight.
However, it was the upset that caused Max to leave the track early and finish his day in a calm quiet place.
The issue is, drivers are required by contract that if they should finish a race early they have to report to the press area first for their after thoughts, something Max forgot to do and it landed him a £25,000 fine.
“I didn’t really feel like (talking) at that moment,” Verstappen told Dutch TV.
“I was disappointed already as it was.”
“I stayed at the track for half an hour to talk about the race and the balance of the car with my engineers, and then I left.”
“It seemed wise not to respond right away,” he said. “I thought it was the smartest thing to do.”
