F1 2014 – Ex-F1 drivers head to Formula E

Formula One News » F1 2014 – Ex-F1 drivers head to Formula E

A wave of ex-formula 1 drivers are making their way to “formula E”, a new competitive racing formula using electric cars.

The 5 drivers: Karun Chandhok, Sebastien Buemi, Lucas di Grassi, Vitantonio Liuzzi and Takuma Sato have all signed up for the series.

Although the drivers have only registered their interest and not been confirmed a statement from formula E read:

“We cannot confirm any drivers just yet as it will be down to the individual teams to select who fills their seats. However, we hope by offering them a ‘pool’ of top international drivers to choose from – all of whom support the new series – we can deliver on this promise of providing close, entertaining racing in city-centres around the world. We also hope it will showcase to fans, TV broadcasters and potential sponsors the high profile names Formula E is attracting and the level of drivers they can expect to see race come September.”
