F1 2013 – McLaren delay announcing 2014 title sponsor

Formula One News » F1 2013 – McLaren delay announcing 2014 title sponsor

McLaren are set to delay announcing their 2014 title sponsor which they were set to reveal on December 2nd but sources now claim it will be announced at the launch of their 2014 car.

The rumoured sponsor was said to be Telmex, who back Sergio Perez, but with reports suggesting Perez is out at McLaren and will be replaced by Kevin Magnussen it could also mean the sponsorship deal is off.

Martin Whitmarsh told autosport “There will be some new sponsors, but probably, and I don’t know because I haven’t spoken to our PR function, I suspect there will be more of a fanfare at a car launch rather than on December 2,”

“But we will see, it depends what our partners want to do, how they want to do it as it’s not just our voice. My own view is that we will be taking away from what I hope is going to be an exciting car launch early next year [if the announcement was in December].”
