Formula One News » F1 2013 β No signs of cheating at Red Bull Posted on 03/10/2013
FIA delegate Charlie Whiting has ruled out any suggestion that Sebastian Vettelβs Red Bull is illegal and does not comply with the rules.
Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso also believes there is no cheating going on at Red Bull and believes it is down to other teams to do a better job saying βSo they are using something different compared to other teams but something that is completely OK because they pass all the checks every race on Saturday and Sunday. So they are completely OK and it’s up to us to do a better job and to maximise the potential, so I’ve not really got any bad feelings about that or any strange feeling.β
βInside the car you try to maximise the car, it’s true that when you find a Red Bull you see they are faster than you in the corners but it’s also happened sometimes with other cars and we don’t say anything like Mercedes was pole position and winning easily in Hungary and you have the same feeling.β
βBut as I said, all the things are good and it’s up to us to do a better job.β
Sebastian Vettel laughed off the claims about traction control and the expected thunderstorm expected to hit the Korean circuit at the weekend by joking “since we have traction control, it doesn’t matter so much.”
βWe are pretty proud of the system and others have to figure out how we have done it; that is part of the homework they have to do.β
