F1 2013 – Raikkonen offered Ferrari seat for 2014

Formula One News » F1 2013 – Raikkonen offered Ferrari seat for 2014

Despite Lotus and Red Bull stating an interest in Kimi Raikkonen for next season, a report from sport bild claims that Ferrari have offered Kimi Raikkonen a seat for the 2014 Formula One season.

The report suggests that Red Bull’s offer is a $15 million retainer, including sponsorship of his motocross team and performance related bonuses.

Raikkonen first joined Ferrari in 2007 when he went on to win the world drivers title and left the team at the end of 2009.

Sport Bild correspondents Nicola Pohl and Helmut Uhl have reported that Ferrari “has made the Finn an offer” claiming that the offer is “more lucrative” than an offer reportedly made to Raikkonen by Red Bull.

I think it will be really stupid if he goes back to them. When Kimi did not perform at Ferrari they saw the need to replace him with Alonso. Now that he is doing well and looks more relaxed now the interest in him yet again. Yes he won the championship with them in 2007 but that is all in the past. Kimi should stay with Lotus next year with the changes happening he has a better chance of winning another title

Ehmm…I’m one of a lot of people Kimi fans (since He had joint at McLaren, Ferrari, and Lotus now), I think that no good idea, caused he’s getting all for comfort and as like his F1 driver style with lotus team. I’m praying and hoping to Kimi to get the 2nd F1 championship w/ lotus. ( Andi-Indonesia)

why would he go to Ferrari again? Ferrari don’t have the car, don’t have the commitment to him and will be reluctant to give him the freedom to act and speak as an individual. His job satisfaction would be dismal. My guess is that he’ll sign for 1 year at Red Bull, leaving Ricciardo at Toro Rosso for another development year. If not, staying at Lotus and having a season of podiums may still get him another championship. Right now, the world is his oyster.
