Formula One News » F1 2013 – Alonso to join Red Bull? Posted on 29/07/2013
As Formula one heads into the summer break, a rumour linking Fernando Alonso to Red Bull has emerged, with red bull not denying the rumour.
The rumour started after Fernando Alonso’s manager Luis Garcia Abad was spotted speaking with red bull boss Christian Horner in the paddock at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Although red bull have failed to deny the talks were about Alonso joining the team, Luis Garcia Abad also manages Carlos Sainz jr. who is a red bull junior driver.
When asked by press association about Alonso, who is rumoured to have a contract with Ferrari until 2016, Christian Horner said “We’re in a fortunate position where there is quite a lot of interest in the seat for next year. We’ll look to make the right decision to ensure we have the right driver alongside Sebastian for next year.”
“Any conversations with other drivers or other parties are always going to remain confidential. There have been quite a few drivers who have expressed an interest in the seat, as you can imagine. Is he available? I don’t know. You ask him.”
Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali is reported as saying “The psychological games are just a part of this sport.”
