Formula One News » F1 2013 – Ecclestone warns F1 could lose European races

Bernie Ecclestone has said F1 could lose European races in favour of races in “emerging markets”.

Speaking to Italian magazine Panorama, Ecclestone revealed that Monza is a circuit that could lose its place.

Ecclestone said “It is possible that Europe will lose a couple of races in favour of emerging markets,”

“If we do lose Monza, and I say if, because no decision has yet been taken, it would only be for economic reasons. Of course, the quality of the circuit and the organisation could be better, but – I repeat – is not the crucial point.”
