Formula One News » F1 2013 – Christian Horner defends Ferrari, Criticises Pirelli

Read Bull team boss Christian Horner has defended Ferrari after it was revealed they also tested Pirelli tyres during the 2013 F1 season.

The saga started when it was revealed Mercedes had tested Pirelli tyres on their 2013 car during the 2013 season which the rules do not permit. However, Ferrari tested the Pirelli tyres on their 2011 car which they believe to be within the rules.

Christin Horner told autosprint “Ferrari’s position is different, because even though they used an official driver (Pedro de la Rosa), it wasn’t their 2013 car.”

“The two situations (Mercedes and Ferrari) are not even comparable.”

“Everyone in F1 is subject to the rules; teams, drivers and suppliers. The rules also apply to them (Pirelli),”
