  • F1 2013 – Lewis Hamilton: I think I made the right choice

Formula One News » F1 2013 – Lewis Hamilton: I think I made the right choice

Lewis Hamilton believes his move to Mercedes is justified after his strong start to the 2013 F1 championship saying “I think I made the right choice”.

“I have a different outlook on this year, everyone was saying at the start it was the worst decision I could have possibly made in my life.

“But definitely, bit by bit, the more and more we impress and improve they have to stand to be corrected. Of course, people have an opinion, but I’m just really grateful I’m here and in the fight.

“It was such a big change for me, a big step for me. I think I made the right choice.”

“I think Ferrari are the quickest, they showed in China they are the quickest overall. The best driver has got the quickest car at the moment, so that is going to be tough to beat. Fernando didn’t have the quickest car last year, but he did a solid job by scoring points all the time.”

Hopefully Lewis is spared the fate Rosberg has suffered and that destroyed Schumacher’s work with Merc. Seems Brawn can only keep one car in the hunt at a time, and that for only half a season. Since 2009 he’s shown a frustrating tendency to be strong early, but ending the season slowly sinking into the abyss. The reliability issues are a Merc problem for 4 seasons running now. Lewis needs to make hey now before it all caves in, either by Merc hitting a development wall, or the reliability curse comes after him as it has Nico. Lewis is a great driver, that does not mean he can fix engineering failures that too frequently color Merc results.
