  • F1 testing day 4: Kimi Raikkonen fastest at Jerez

Formula One News » F1 testing day 4: Kimi Raikkonen fastest at Jerez

Kimi Raikkonen set the fastest time on the final day of pre-season testing at Jerez today with a time of 1:18.148 which was just +0.027s faster than second placed Jules bianchi for force India.

Early morning saw Pedro De La Rosa suffer a gearbox issue which caused his Ferrari to start smoking. The Ferrari managed to get back out in the afternoon and completed 50 laps.

Sebastian vettel ended the day 3rd with Hamilton and Perez in 6th and 7th respectively.

It has been a good 2 days for Mercedes who had to cut short both of their first 2 days testing due to issues with their new car.

“I think we are at the level where we would have hoped to have been”

“The guys have done a great job to add downforce to the car, understand where they have been and take the car in the direction they want to go. Now they need direction.

“They need me and Nico to tell them where we can improve the car and which direction we need to go – is it front end that we need to improve?

“Is it rear end? Is it globally? Is it corner entry? Is it corner exit? All this kind of thing. So that is what we are working on.” Lewis said to autosport

Testing was extended by 30 minutes as the track needed to be repaired after a slight hole appeared in the circuits track
