Formula One News » F1 calendar to expand to 20 races in 2011

The World Motor Sport Council confirmed the calendar for the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship today and next year’s schedule will include twenty races in total, the most ever held in one year.

The key changes include the inclusion of India for the first time, which will take place on October 30, as well as an alteration that will see Brazil act as the curtain closer, in preference to Abu Dhabi.

There will also be four back-to-back grand’s prix, as opposed to three in 2010.

As has become the norm in recent years, Bahrain will kick off proceedings in March, while the British GP at Silverstone takes place on July 10.
